Central High International Schools’ 2023 Investiture ceremony on the 26th of September was a grand affair.The event was graced by the esteemed guest of honour, Mr. Patrick Gray Mpaka, President of the Malawi Law Society and Mr. Sabir Nathanie, Board Director of CHIS.
As the ceremony unfolded, there was an undeniable aura of enthusiasm in the air, especially as the new student council assumed their respective offices. Their energy and determination were palpable, setting the stage for a promising year ahead.
The speeches delivered by the Head Boy and Head Girl centered around the theme of leadership qualities and responsibilities. They eloquently elucidated the multifaceted nature of effective leadership, emphasizing a crucial point – leadership is not about striving for perfection but rather about recognizing one’s imperfections, learning from them, and adapting to become better leaders.
The highlight of the event was when our distinguished guest of honour, Mr. Patrick Gray Mpaka, took to the stage. In a powerful address, he echoed the council’s oath, reminding them of the solemn commitment they were making to their roles. He stressed the importance of abiding by this oath and encouraged the young leaders to strive for excellence in all their endeavors.
The 2023 Investiture ceremony was not just a momentous occasion but also a significant reminder that leadership is not bestowed by titles alone; it is earned through dedication, humility and a sincere commitment to making a positive impact on the school and the community at large.
