It was with great honour that Central High International School awarded the 2020–21 academic achievers. Not only was this a celebration of the awardees’ diligence, but an acknowledgement and appreciation of the efforts inculcated by parents, teachers, and the school as a whole.
What set apart this particular traditional occasion was the presence of greatness in our midst. Our esteemed Guest of Honour, the Vice-Chancellor of UNICAF, Dr Robert Ridley, delivered a moving speech with eloquence and grace—the true marks of a well-learned and experienced educator who definitely walks the talk. The focus of his delivery emphasised the much-needed awakening of every academic achiever; to not only pursue bookish brilliance but to also develop personal achievements that are paramount to one’s overall success in this life.
Adding to the grandeur was the attendance of the Board Chair and two Board Members of Central High International School; Mr Irfan Bheda, Mr Farouk Nathanie and Mr Shabir Nathanie respectively. Most certainly, distinguished guests whose presence alone brought the necessary heartwarming aura.
More than eighty students, comprising Form One to Form Five and highest achievers in the May/June Cambridge IGCSE & AS/A Levels received top of the range prizes. We acknowledge UNICAF for sponsoring some of the trophies for this event. Accompanied by their exhilarated parents (shedding a tear or two of glee) to the podium, it was all smiles from the award recipients to their parents and officiates of the Felicitation Ceremony.
Indeed, such is the pride of students, parents, and the school upon stupendous attainments.
Hats off to you, our awardees!!!
